On 27 November, 10 members of the public joined volunteer Naomi Crage, who ably demonstrated how to cover a metal wreath ring with bunches of foliage held by wire, and then everyone got stuck in, with pine needles and berries flying!

The Woodhouse Centre has been out battling the wind and rain at local fairs including Oxted and Limpsfield. There were plenty of Christmas gifts on sale and they made some great sales on all sorts of crafts.
Councillor Simon Morrow( Chairman of Tandridge District Council) very kindly opened the Woodhouse Centre’s Autumn Fair on 21 October. The Fair was the first one since Covid and had a great attendance providing a wonderful fund raising event for the Centre.
The Woodhouse Centre has created an amazing dress out of poppies to help support the Oxted Royal Legion Poppy Appeal and it is being displayed at Morrisons in Oxted.
Trustees, staff and members of the Woodhouse Centre were delighted to receive a hand made gift from the Tandridge Handicraft Society to mark the Centre’s 50th Anniversary. Jenny Beal, Chair of the Society, presented the embroidered picture at the group’s recent AGM held in the Woodhouse Centre.
The Men in Sheds are very happy with their new machine – New Planer/thicknesser and would like to thank the generosity of the Limpsfield Artisan Golf Club who have chosed The Woodhouse Centre as their captain’s charity this year. They would also like to say a hearty thank-you for the recent donation of Ronseal Varnish organised which will be put to good use in the Shed.
The Woodhouse Centre celebrated the start of their 50th anniversary with a special ‘golden rose’ planting ceremony. The sun shone and members watched the planting of the rose and had some drinks to celebrate this special occasion.
The Woodhouse Centre is planning some workshops for the community to come and try some new crafts. These will take place in The Woodhouse and are open to all the community. They will cover a whole range of crafts from bunting making to making Christmas Wreaths and cater for a whole range of ages.
The first workshops – MAKING BUNTING – A 3 hour workshop for parent and child/children on Monday 23rd August at The Woodhouse Centre, Oxted. 9.30-12.30 am and 2-5pm (choose session). Cost per adult and child £20 (additional children £5 each) and includes fabrics and refreshments. Sessions are for up to 6 adults with children (max 2 each) at each workshop. Children aged 9+.
We are also offering a special rate of £15 for students – maybe of interest to students going off to Uni to decorate their new rooms.
