Susan Farrell

Susan Farrell started her career as an Information Scientist, so she immediately got drawn into the world of the Internet and dial-up databases, which ultimately led her into website creation and management, and then into the world of digital. Her last role before retirement was as Head of Digital at UCL.

In the five years since her retirement, Susan has kept very busy with Edenbridge u3a, Limpsfield Village WI, St John’s Hurst Green Church Choir, volunteering for Oxted Library, playing walking netball, and exercising with Boostfit. To that list of activities, she added volunteering at The Woodhouse Centre in 2021. Craft activities are an essential part of Susan’s life and have been ever since her grandma taught her to knit as a small child, so she thoroughly enjoys being part of the Centre. In November 2021 Susan set up the first Woodhouse Centre workshop making wreaths. Since then, she has organised workshops on crochet, macrame and sewing, with new workshops being added according to demand. As a Trustee, Susan is keen to contribute to the growth and success of the Woodhouse Centre wherever she can.

Susan is a Geordie but has lived in Surrey since 1978, and in Oxted since 1985, so she is almost a Southerner. She has two children, who are busy making their way in the world, and one grand-dog.
